As a newly published author, the emotions of it all sometimes get the best of me. When Jesus Calls is not just a book to me. It is a powerful story of God’s amazing Grace and Love! As I spent countless hours writing, I knew Jesus was doing mighty work in me, and I also knew all of the words, chapters, etc., were being written for His Glory! It felt as if He was writing it for me. With each keyboard stroke, I knew His plans were amazing. His plans always are, aren’t they?
A new Author never really knows how many readers will enjoy their writing or how it will be perceived until it’s published and in their hands. It brought me so much peace, joy, and maybe a little fear. It’s a big deal to publish your first book!
It’s been over a year now, and it’s been amazing.
Last night, I opened my email and read this fantastic review with a humble but joyful heart. I am deeply grateful for the positive feedback and the opportunity to share my journey with you all.
I just had to share it with all of you. As I read the review, I was overwhelmed with gratitude. The words on the pages of When Jesus Calls tell the story of my heart, a testimony that God has given me. It has not been an easy journey, but the lessons I've learned have been priceless. My prayer is that, in some small way, my story will touch your heart and help you grow closer to our Lord.
When times are uncertain in your heart, or you have concerns, fears, etc., always remember, as I have to remind myself of one of my favorite scriptures:
John 11:40
“Jesus said, did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the Glory of God?” This scripture has been a guiding light for me, especially during the times of uncertainty and fear. It's a reminder of the power of faith and belief in God's plan.
Love you all! Always Believe and Never Give Up!

When Jesus Calls by Martha Gayle, book review by Mihir Shah “
“No, Mary, it may feel like it at times, but I have prepared you. You will do well. Remember, your words are my words."
An expression of faith through storytelling, Gayle’s work combines scripture with how to apply it in the earthly world. The main character, Mary, acts as the conduit through which audiences can see the power of prayer and love for Jesus Christ manifested in her daily actions and experiences. In her earlier years, there is a stark contrast between the carefree Mary who goes camping with her father and the one who fails to guard her heart, leading to betrayal and heartbreak. As the layers of pain and despair pile on, Mary finds herself walking away from her savior, and it is only truly when she walks in on her then-husband having an affair that she understands that true, unconditional love only comes from the love of the Lord, and all else in the world is part and parcel of his boundless love. Through prayer and relentless faith, Mary experiences the presence of incredible companions, chiefly her adorable pet JJ, who seems nothing short of a timely blessing meant to bring Mary’s focus squarely on prayer and devotion. Prayer brings her the perfect oceanside home of serenity to write her book, a meaningful escape from isolation with a friend like Tiffany, and an incredible job as the sales and marketing coordinator for an inn with an empathetic boss like Mr. Henry. Overall, Gayle expertly weaves in scripture that fits in seamlessly with the narrative, helping audiences break complex ideas into digestible pieces through anecdotes. Throughout, themes of friendship, chastity, and persistence ring true. The path to Christ is not going to be a smooth one, but it’s tried and true, with faith in the Lord paving the path to mortal and eternal bliss. Easy to understand and follow, Gayle’s book creates a strong connection between readers and Mary, in whom audiences can see themselves and their own journey.
Congratulations on your book, I hope God will bless many as they read it!
