Don't look back.
Remembering a thought from years ago that took me back to a moment I will never forget.
We were driving back home from a long trip. We had already driven for hours, the sun had set, and it was very dark out. Headlights were beaming from passing vehicles on the highway, and we were tired. We still had a few hours to drive.
As the car was quiet, the anticipation of the long drive being over was on everyone’s minds.
In a moment of meditation, I remember talking to the Lord. “Lord, I am so ready for you to come back!”
What I heard next shook me to the core. The words seemed to go straight through my heart. The Lord said, “Martha, are you sure? What would you look back at if I came through the clouds at this very second?” Would you turn to anyone to say, “Come with me, …...!” I thought about that for a minute and, wow!
I love my family, children, and our loving pets, Biscuit and Mumford! Of course, I want them all to come with me!
I remember having this conversation with my family and with much seriousness. The urgency I felt in my heart came from God. I began sharing the story and with emphasis these words: “When the lord returns, don’t look back for anything or anyone. We need to stand, look up, raise our arms to Jesus, and say, “Receive me, Lord!”
We will all be together, with Jesus for eternity.
What an amazing thought. A place where there is no evil, no tears, no pain. A place of perfection.
I long for this day!
1 Corinthians 15:51-52
“Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed — In a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.”
We have to know in our hearts that we are ready for His return every day because we do not know when that day will be.
Are you ready?
Matthew 24:36
“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
Below are a few scriptures that keep me focused on this day!
Matthew 6: 19-21
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Luke 12: 54-56
He said to the crowd: “When you see a cloud rising in the west, immediately you say, ‘It’s going to rain,’ and it does. And when the south wind blows, you say, ‘It’s going to be hot,’ and it is. Hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky. How is it that you don’t know how to interpret this present time?
1 Peter 1:15-16
But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”
Genesis 19:26
“But Lot’s wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.”
Remember, don’t look back! Be ready for His return every day.
Prepare your family for His return, and until then, may we find our strength in Jesus to walk in only His will, keep fighting the good fight of faith, walk in His obedience, love one another, forgive one another, and long for the words, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”
Have you received Jesus Christ into your heart to live for Him?
Romans 10:9-10
“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”
Blessings to you all! Jesus loves you very much! You are worthy because of Him!
Always Believe and Never give up!
John 11:40
