When the storm has passed.
Thunder roared; lightning bolts filled the sky with bright light, reminding us of life’s storms that can suddenly come upon us.
I still felt peace somehow; my heart felt safe, knowing Jesus was with me, calming the storm inside of me.
The story in Mark about Jesus calming the storm reminds us that, no matter how fierce the storm, Jesus has the power to bring peace.
Mark 35:41
“They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”
Life can be unpredictable at times, can’t it?
One day you feel safe, while the next day something quickly comes at you that you never expected. A trial you would prefer never to have to go through, but we have to, and when we get to the other side, at times, it feels like a breath of fresh air. Nothing surprises Jesus. If we are His children, He walks beside us, even in the storm.
Romans 8:28
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose.”
I need to be reminded of these words daily, and I pray it will encourage you today.
If you are currently in a storm in your life and you feel the winds and waves are terrifying, turn and focus on Jesus. He will calm the storm in your heart.
Deuteronomy 31:6
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Jesus tells us not to fear. I pray to continue to walk in the courage and strength He gives, as 2 Timothy 1:7 tells us, “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.”
The enemy is a liar. Do not believe his lies. Fear is not of God.
Jesus tells us not to fear.
Jesus said in Isaiah 41:10
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am Your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
James 4:7 — “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
Lord, thank you for the courage and strength that you give us every day. Help us to live in the peace that you give us, not allowing fear to consume us, no matter what is going on around us. May we submit only to you, rebuke the enemy, keep our eyes on You, allowing You to have Your perfect will in our lives. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen
Walking with Jesus is not a religion but a personal relationship with Him. He is not only our Father, but He is also our friend.
If you do not have a personal relationship with Him, I encourage you to ask Him into your heart, ask Him to forgive you of your sins, and allow Him to lead your life. He will walk with you. He will never leave you!
Romans 10:9-10
“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”
Be encouraged today! Thank you for reading and allowing me to share my heart with you.
Always Believe and Never Give Up!

This really touched my heart. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been learning in a deeper way that peace is not found in the absence of a storm, but in the quiet assurance of being held by Jesus within it. My circumstances have not always shifted as quickly as I hoped, yet I can see how gently and faithfully He has been shaping something within me through it all.
There are still moments when fear tries to rise and speak louder than truth, but even there, God has been tender in redirecting my heart back to Him. He has been teaching me to rest my gaze on His presence rather than the weight of what I feel in the moment. In that surrender, I’m discovering a steadier kind of trust than I’ve known before.
I also regularly write about healing and walking through fear and trauma, so this message meets me in a very personal place. It feels like a quiet reminder from God Himself—both for my own journey and for the words I share with others—that He is present in every layer of our becoming.
Thank you for this beautiful reminder. It has gently strengthened my heart today and drawn me back again to the One who remains constant, even when everything around us feels uncertain.
There’s a song I sometimes hear on the radio but I’m not sure what it’s called but one section says “Sometimes Jesus calms the storm and sometimes He calms me.” I remember the first time I heard it and I thought to myself “I really hate that. I want Him to calm the storm and not let it rage while He calms me.” But then I realized that no matter what’s going on we need to have our faith in the fact that He wants what’s best for us.
